Protein is needed by our bodies to maintain a healthy life style. Protein helps our bodies repair damaged cells, build and repair muscles and bones, it helps to control our metabolism, and provides energy for our bodies. Amino Acids are a big part of protein. There are two types essential and non-essential. These acids are the building blocks for a healthy body. Our bodies are not able to manufacture essential amino acids. The only way our bodies get them is eating high protein foods. These foods are called complete proteins. Protein foods can assist our bodies to burn fat. This is a result of high protein foods slowing down the amount of glucose that enters our blood stream. Here are some examples of high protein foods. Eating a high protein diet requires more energy to digest therefore allowing our bodies to burn more calories. Burning more calories helps you to achieve your weight loss goals. Protein is essential to our bodies to build and preserve muscle tissue. Our bodies our made up of protein. Parts of our bodies that are comprised of protein include our muscles, skin, eyes, and our immune system just to name a few. Next to water protein is the most plentiful substance in our body. |
